Straub planned to reopen it as Revel Atlantic City but never did so due to disagreements with state regulators. In 2016, Icahn sold the property to Glenn Straub for $82 million. However, demolition was delayed due to environmental concerns. The property was sold to Carl Icahn, who planned to demolish it. Trump Plaza closed in 2014 after years of financial struggle. Trump Plaza opened in 1984 and was one of Trump’s most successful casinos. In 1976, the property was sold to Donald Trump, who demolished the existing buildings and constructed Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. It was later sold and renovated before reopening as Ocean Resort Casino. The hotel and casino, located in Atlantic City, New Jersey, closed in 2014 after two years of operations due to financial difficulties.
